Fishing sunsets

Last Pfingsten, or Pentecost Sunday, I went to Ulm, a city near Munich, to go fishing.

The weather was amazing. and so was the view.

It's quite a nice feeling really, fishing. The stillness of everything. You can just sit there, and think of nothing.

The sunset was amazing!

The sky mirrored itself on the surface of the lake.

You could see the clouds reflected on the water.

were it not for the trees and the lilies, you would think that the sky was endless.

this picture somehow makes me reflect on life.

How everything seems to be balanced. nature and mankind.

this is nature's version of an artwork.

as  the sun slowly set, the insects and the frogs began their symphony.

honestly, this could pass as a ''heavenly'' scene from a movie.

we didn't really catch a lot of fish though.

still, it was a perfect afternoon.

it makes me think of the times I spent in Escalante back in the Philippines, where we used to have sea-picnics during low tide. We would bring baskets of rice, vinegar amongst other things. We then had to search for shells and other seafood on the vast ocean floor that was then visible. I used to see lots of strange sea creatures like sea cucumbers and various clams. We usually did those picnics in the afternoon, up until sunset.  The sky would then change into wonderful colors, almost just like this in the picture.

 Ahhh... such bliss.
